Clear about what leaves your browser.
DeviceTriage uses the least data needed for each test and labels the exceptions instead of describing every feature as fully local.
Performance summaries
Performance and display-timing tests store summary timing and throughput numbers locally for 7 days. The performance series saves medians and variation from three short runs. Each run generates one temporary 512 KB IndexedDB value, reads it once, and deletes it before the next run. The display sample stores only interval counts and numeric timing summaries; it is not an exact panel refresh-rate reading. Heap contents are never read or stored.
Network test summaries
The network test may keep latency, jitter, HTTPS request-loss, attempt counts and transfer-rate numbers locally for 7 days. Retesting replaces the prior summary. Raw generated transfer data, request URLs, IP addresses and personal content are not placed in the saved summary. Ordinary request information can still reach the hosting layer as described below.
Media and screen summaries
Camera playback counts, browser-reported stream and display classifications, microphone signal summaries and your listening or visual reviews may be kept locally for 7 days. Display classifications contain only color-gamut and dynamic-range labels. Denied, stopped or incomplete tests are recorded as not run. Retesting replaces the prior summary. No photos, video, recordings, audio samples or screenshots are retained. Clear this site's browser data to remove these summaries.
Input test summaries
When you finish a keyboard, mouse, touchscreen or gamepad test, its evidence summary stays in this browser for 7 days for Device Check and your local JSON report. A retest replaces that test's previous result. Keyboard summaries contain unique physical key codes, not typed text or input order. Mouse and touch summaries contain checks and counts, not coordinates or movement history. Device Check can remove all saved test evidence immediately.
Quick device check
System, browser, graphics, screen, storage, and capability signals are collected and evaluated inside your browser. For before-and-after comparison, the local dashboard may keep the latest two summaries of the score, confidence, issue count, profile and category scores for 7 days. JSON reports selected for restoration are validated and read locally; the file is not uploaded. The dashboard does not retain the raw user-agent or complete signal set, and DeviceTriage does not require an account.
Camera and microphone
These tools request browser permission only after you start them. Camera previews and microphone levels remain in the page; DeviceTriage does not record, transcribe, store, or upload those streams.
Network Test
This test exchanges generated bytes with DeviceTriage endpoints to estimate HTTPS response time, jitter, request loss, and transfer speed to the serving region. Quick and extended modes use 8 or 20 response samples but the same bounded transfer volume. It is not an ICMP ping or a measurement of every route on your internet connection.
Analytics and advertising
Provider-independent analytics are disabled by default. Advertising is supplied by Adsterra across DeviceTriage pages. Its third-party ad resources may process IP address, device/browser details, cookies, and ad interactions under Adsterra's policies. Browser privacy controls and content-blocking settings may limit these resources without affecting DeviceTriage tests.
